Palace on Wheels, which is a royal Indian train comprises of 14 guest coaches with enchanting and lavish decor reflecting the architectural style of bygone era of the Maharajas. The luxury train has been renovated several times to adopt technological advancements in order to provide better traveling experience to its guests. The train is well equipped with all modern amenities and offers modified itinerary along with off-train excursion tours.

Palace on Wheels train comprises 14 fully air-conditioned coaches named and recalled the princely states of Rajasthan has quite impressive interiors and ethnic Rajasthani decor that recreate the regal splendour of the past. Besides attractive interiors each coach has 4 twin bedded chambers equipped with music channel, running hot & cold water, shower, attached toilets, intercom, and wall to wall carpeting to enhance the pleasure of traveling.

Despite these, its personal attendants or Khidmatgars, each saloon mini pantry and lounge equipped with television, DVD player and small library, an exotic array of dishes including Continental, Chinese, Indian and Rajasthani cuisines at on-board restaurants and well stocked bar with wine and liquor always keep guests in high spirits.

Only those who are 21 years old or older will be served alcohol.

In general, you will be served top cuisines like Continental, Indian, and Chinese. You will be served traditional Rajasthan dishes too. If you require any special diet food like lactose-free dishes, kosher diet, gluten-free diet, and others, mention during the booking.

There is no such service inside the train. However, at specific destinations, you can opt for laundry service, and the clothes will be delivered at the next destination. To know when the laundry service is available, talk to your butler. It is an add-on service and is not covered in the tariff.

Every traveller on the Palace on Wheels will be served by a butler. Each coach of Palace on Wheels holds one butler, who is at service 24/7.

If you need a wheelchair or other services, please mention them during booking. The train cabins can be easily accessed via wheelchair.

With regards to the coach name, the decor style of the cabin varies. For instance, the Alwar coach holds a decor of cone works with a pink interior. Bharatpur coach holds paintings of bird species with inlay works in the aqua green interior. Jaipur coach holds ceiling foil-work decoration, miniature paintings, and zardozi work in gold and blue interior, and so on.

Palace on Wheels does not demand any vaccination certificates from the travelers. However, if you are visiting from any Yellow Fever epidemic country, you need vaccination certification to enter India.

Yes, you can cancel the tickets whenever needed. If you cancel 90 days before departure date, 10% of the total ticket fare is deducted. If canceled between 30 and 89 days from departure date, 20% of the cost is deducted. If canceled within 29 days from departure date, no refund is made.

The train needs a minimum number of passengers for profitable functioning. If the threshold is not met, the tour will be cancelled, and a complete refund will be made. In case of the tour being cancelled because of any natural calamity, no refund would be provided.
